MFPI 2006 CONGRESS & CLIMB
 
NMCI Officers and members again joined the recent annual Congress and Climb of the Mountaineering Federation of the Philippines, (Inc) held in Bacolod City on July 4, 2006.  Representing the Club during the affair were mountaineers.....

Profile of the Man, the Leader, and as a
World-class Mountaineer!
 
Born and raised in the sugar Province of Occidental Negros- in the progressive town of Pontevedra, I met Art way back in the mid-1970s.  At the time, I remember he was affiliated with ManuLife Insurance just before he joined the
BM-ACMA (a local Transport Company) as General Manager. 
By this time, Art was pretty interested with climbing, but it took until early in April of 1979 that he managed to join our climb up Mt. Kanlaon. 
Bitten by the climbing bug, in May of the same year, he organized a Negrense team that successfully assaulted Mt. Mayon. ...(more..)
